Mommygirlz
For the Babygirlz staff, the creation of a designated Mommy*girlz space, within the magazine, didn’t come easy. We fought with the concept of giving YOU a space that belonged specifically to YOU, as a young mommy, because there existed the possibility of making you feel alone — different — isolated, from the other girlz. We want to assure you that is NOT the intent of this space. While you share the same needs as your babygirlz peers, you also have needs that are specific to you, in your role as “Mommy”. This space is our quest to cater to ALL of your needs as you navigate, and combine, the worlds of young diva and motherhood.
There are some who believe that your decision to become a young mother, has to do with one or more of the following reasons:
- Dealing with deep hurts
- Loneliness and feeling that a child will fill a void
- Insecurities about who you are as a person
- An attempt to replace the love and security of a missing father in your life
Whether any of them relate to you, nothing erases the fact that, both a brave and challenging decision has been made. You have already, or will bring, a beautiful life into this world – and that does NOT mean that it is the end of your life – it is all in how you handle your situation.
Mommy*girlz will make every possible effort to walk this journey with you by bringing you stories from girlz just like you, resources, and whatever other support you need to be successful.
